Binding shaken and cracked; about a quarter of the pages detached; some margins chipped, not affecting text or illustrative type specimen; spine detached and laid in, missing a narrow strip, but spine lettering all present. An exremely rare copy of the this Collective Specimen Book.

n.d. (ca. 1940s-1950s?). No publisher. No place. Large and sturdy folio 6-ring binder in 3-tone geometric design with 519 pp. of type specs on removeable sheets, plus 4-page index at front. It is not known who published this compilation of type specimens from various type founderies, but most of the specimens appear to originate from American Type Founders. Binder rubbed & soiled, and one ring missing; a number of pages detached through wear to punch-holes; some punch holes reinforced; occasional minor annotation on page; last page worn on bottom corner, not affecting illustration; contents otherwise bright with nicks to margins. A number of pages are out of order, but book appears to be complete. A unique item, in our expereince. This is a very heavy oversize item; please inquire about shipping charges when ordering.
