Custom bound in three-quarter leather and marbled boards; black leather spine label printed in gilt; new endpapers; marbled edges. (xii) + c + 395 + subscribers’ list (7 pp.). Illustrated with 6 engraved plates and 7 engraved maps, folding. Leather rubbed at extremities, some slight scuffing, and nick to spine head; some shelf-wear to marbled boards; small library stamp on title-page verso; light damp stains to map corners, occasionally offsetting faintly onto immediately adjacent pages; some map folds a bit curled and nicked (not unusual); and very small patches of foxing to a few pages only; an altogether tight and otherwise very clean and bright copy in excellent condition. Despite library stamp, it does not appear that this copy was ever used as a library book– which may be because stamp reads “Duplicate. For Sale”. There are no other library markings.
