ANTIQUE MAP. Le Monde Connu Des Anciens Au Temps De Ptolemee (1838)

Map of the ancient world, as known at the time of Ptolemy, from “Atlas de Geographie Ancienne, du Moyen Age, et Moderne” (Paris, 1850). The map measures approx. 13″ x 18″ inches, including margins, and has a centrefold. Details are hand-coloured. Originally made by Delamarche in 1838, it was part of the compilation for the Atlas of 1850. A couple of thumb-prints to lower and side margin, not affecting map. Delamarche was a famous 19th century French cartographer and naval engineer. Text in French.
