Set of 8 engravings from the folio of 1820, the last of the acceptable prints from Hogarth’s original plates of 1735. Each image, including legend, measures approx. 13 1/2″ x 15″ (34.5 cm x 38.5 cm). All engravings are clean, bright and sharp, with faint glue residue from tissue guards on surrounding sheet. “Rake’s Progress” is probably Hogarth’s most famous series of prints, including the rake in a brothel (Plate 3), perhaps his most well-known image from his painting of the same subject.
