The historic Damien Hirst auction of 15-16 September 2008, in 5 catalogues in Large 4to format in pictorial slipcase. Hirst rented the Sotheby’s premises for a self-administered auction, and Sotheby’s published the catalogues for him. The first three catalogues comprise the main auction, 228 pp.; 168 pp.; 192 pp., and are each lavishly illustrated in colour. The last two catalogues are of individual pieces, “The Kingdom” (the famous shark), 27 pp., and “The Golden Calf”, 31 pp., each also fully illustrated in colour. Slipcase Fine.
