Oblong 4to. Facsimile phenakistiscope discs from the George Eastman House collection, originally published by Fores’s of London in 1833, with a couple by Giroux of Paris (ca. 1830s-1840s). Phenakistiscope included (a wooden handle with rotating screw, to which discs are to be attached, interchangeably, and spun to produce optical illusion of movement). No batteries required!
