Engraved by Thomas Kitchin from survey maps corrected from astronomical observations. Map with hand-coloured outline, cartouche with vignette, county coat of arms, and coloured borders, 8 1/2″ x 6 1/4″, plus approx. 1/2″ margins. A clean colourful copy with Severn River in torquoise and especially bright and colourful vignette of milkmaid and cows. Kitchin was one of the most famous map-engravers of his day, regularly publishing maps in “The London Magazine”, as well as contributing maps to books of the period.
