Illustrated with 74 plates, many in colour, including colour frontispieces; three folding maps in colour; illustrative endpapers. Bookplate on front pastedown of v.1 and on ffep verso, v.2; corners and one board edge bumped; some light spotting on borders; some minor foxing; title pages lightly browned from offsetting from tissue guard, and two pages browned from offsetting from contemporary newspaper clipping, laid in; some wrinkling to margin of v.2 ffep from bookplate glue. A nice, bright set with several pages still uncut.
