Original steel engraved map with hand-coloured outlining. From a series of 80 such maps porduced by Tallis in the early 1850s. Delicately engraved, the maps include vignettes depicting famous landmarks or inhabitants of the particular area involved. This one depicts The Carnival, Benevento, Naples and Vesuvius, Festival of the Vintage. Full sheet measures 11″ x 14″ (27 cmc x 37 mc). Decorative border. Ink number on top margin, and small edge-tear; else a nice, clean copy.
