LOGAN’S COLLECTION OF HIGHLAND BAGPIPE MUSIC. 8 Books Bound Into One.

n.d. (1920s?). 8 books of Logan’s Collection bound into black cloth with gilt cover title. 46 pp. per book. The binding is worn with top board nearly detached, but each of the parts is in Very Good+ to Near Fine condition, with tanning to edges & margins, and occasional marginal soiling. Each book retains the pictorial and printed paper cover in which it was originally issued, and these are especially clean & bright. The last (Book 8) is entitled “Special War Memorial Number 1914-1918”, and is lightly browned, with publisher’s imprint reading: Paterson, Sons & Co., Ltd., Glagow. Book 8 contains 2 additional marches and pages (pp. 47-48) not listed in the table of contents. Another additional march is entered neatly by hand on rear free endpaper verso. Poor (condition) binding also has large but elegantly printed name on front pastedown, newspaper clipping (1942) on front free endpaper, and mark across top edge, not penetrating margins.
