Hardcover. Unpaginated. (Approx. 100 pp.) Illustrated with full-page photoportraits of a variety of national types. Ink name on title page; cloth quite rubbed & spotted, with some wear to extremities; binding cracked but firm; but interior clean & bright. The book derives from a popular attraction at the Chicago World’s Fair of 1893. This was a midway illustrating 19th century ethnography with all kinds of ethnic and national types who entertained the crowds with folk dances and nartional music. The photoportraits are of some of the participants. The introducer and commentator, Dr. F. W. Putnam of Harvard University, was the chief of ethnology at the World’s Fair.
