SIGNED AND DATED BY THE ARTIST, 1980. Image shows two eagle heads, a cross, a series of what look like cross-hairs of a rifle scope, and a ghost image of an Indian head. Carl Beam (1943-2005) was an internationally acclaimed contemporary artist of Anishinaabe (Ojibway) descent, and the first artist of First Nations ancestry to have a work purchased by the National Gallery of Canada for its contemporary art collection.
