SCARCE. This book contains 180 drawings of Picasso executed in Villauris from the 28th of November, 1953 to the 3th of February, 1954. The cover, including paper label running entire length of the spine, was designed by Picasso for this issue, which constitutes the double Number 29/30 of VERVE. The black and white heliogravures were printed by Draeger Freres and the colour lithography by Mourlot, both Master Printers. Preface by Teriade. With an appreciation by Rebecca West. Ink inscription on title page; front hinge partially started, but firm, and corners slightly rubbed, with some wear to one lower corner; dj has a couple of long closed tears and is edge-worn, with shallow chips, on rear panel. Altogether a nice copy wearing its 50 years quite well.
