Original steel engraved map with outline hand colouring. From a series of 80 such maps Tallis produced during the early 1850s. Delicately engraved, all include vignettes depicting famous landmarks or inhabitants of the particular area involved. Those here include Shuhur Jeypoor, Seal of the East India Company, Tomb of Sultan Mahomed Shah, Bejapoor, The Government House,Calcutta, Full sheet 14″ x 11″ (37c x 27c). Decorative border. “32” written in ink on upper right corner, otherwise a nice clean copy.
