Hardcover. Red cloth, opulently decorated in gilt; spine lettering & spine decoration, gilt. n. d. (ca. 1914). viii + 235 pp. Illustrated with 20 tipped in colourplates & frontispiece by Hugh Thomson, plus line drawings in text. Spine slightly faded with small star-shaped patch of original unfaded red (probably where once a star had been affixed, since removed); head of spine and corners lightly rubbed; binding slightlky cracked but firm; altogether a bright clean copy, actually VG+, with sparkling gilt cover and charming plates in Georgian children’s book style.
