232 pp. White and green cloth; title-lettering and cover vignette green-stamped on white cloth; spine lettering green on white. Profusely illustrated from photographs taken on the trip by members of the expedition and official photographer, Rudolf Kersting. White cloth lightly soiled and spine slightly age-darkened; extremities rubbed; endpapers faintly foxed, some minor marginal soiling, and binding cracked but firm; interior otherwise bright. The expedition came to an ignominious end when the Miranda crashed into an ice-berg and had to be abandoned, along with countless photographs. On the way home expedititon members founded the “Arctic Club” dedicated to an annual dinner and speeches.
