Spine and borders faded; head of spine chipped and frayed, with some wear to tail; some wear to corners; front hinge started; one plate detached, and foxing throughout, though most of the text is actually quite bright & clean with ALL PHOTOGRAPHS PRESENT, many of startling brightness and clarity. A spectacular book on the Bernese Highlands in the Swiss Alps, the result of an expedition organized to support John Tyndall’s theories of glacial movement.
