Hardcover. Red cloth with blind-stamped cover title & cover vignette; spine lettering gilt with blind-stamped spine vignette. Large 8vo. 2 vols. 704 pp. continuous pagination + folding plates at rear of v. 1. Illustrated with hieroglyphs throughout the text, with full hieroglyphic transcript in v.2; facsimile of Papyrus of Ani reproduced in 37 folding colourplates at rear of v.1. Corners bumped; tiny bruise to spine edge of v.1; a few very small faint stains to front cover of v.1, and small light stain to covers of v.2 (not affecting cover vignette); small blank sticker on v.1 front free endpaper, and narrow strip of rear free endpaper border soiled from offsetting from rear cover cloth; small, neat ink annotation on title page to rear plates; top edges a trifle dusty, and faint foxing to fore-edge; else a nice tight copy with clean & bright interior and bright colourplates. The ink annotation is a table of the actual dimensions of the papyrus of Ani in comparison to 4 other papyri.
