Illustrated with steel engravings, including title-pages, each volume, by W. H. Bartlett, T. Allom, and others. Notes, critical biographical, of Burns’s works by Allan Cunningham. Corners rubbed, and minor scuffing to spine leather; vol. 1 hinge started under front endpaper, but very firm; occasional minor marginal soiling; the usual staining (on books of this age) only evident on frontispiece of vol. 2 and title page of vol. 1; else a nice bright set with especially sparkling spines.
