Each issue also has a separately paginated “Modern Advertising” supplement, being “A Monthly Journal for Advertisers.” Each issue fully illustrated in b/w, and each with colour forntispiece. The frontispiece of the October issue, for example, is a stunning chromolithogrpah reproduction of Hohenstein’s famous “Tosca” poster, a full-size version of which went for US$ 19,550 at New York’s Swann Auction Galleries, 2003. An article on “Some Posters Parodied” in the same issue is illustrated (in b/w) by Jack B. Yeats. Colour frontispiece of the December issue is a reproduction of a maritme poster by Cassiers, best known for his shipping posters. Spine darkened, and chipped at head and foot; extremities rubbed; endpapers slightly browned, and some minor browning and staining to margins, not otherwise affecting interior; else about as clean & bright as might be expected for its age, with surprisingly bright plates.
