Numerous engraved textual illustrations, including 10 full-page; 5 plates hors texte, 4 of them folding. Small ink notation on front pastedown; endpapers partially split over hinges, but very, very firm; apart from the usual tanning to pages & edges, there are no other noticeable defects to this very nice, tight copy. Bernard de Montfaucon (1655-1741) was a Benedictine monk and a pioneer of ancient Greek paeleography and archeology.
