The famous “marbled page” page of Tristram Shandy is here done in vivid colour mounted on pp. 267-68 of v.1. Works include Tristram Shandy, A Sentimental Journey, Sermons, Letters, &c., and a Life of the the Author Written by Himself. Bookplate on front pastedown; extremities rubbed and wear to corners; foxing to some early pages of v.1, and some marginal staining (offsetting from leather) to a few rear pages of v.1; interiors otherwise clean & bright. Despite these defects, this is an exceptionally nice, tight, bright set altogether, virtually Near Fine in appearance.
